Abstract
The text investigates how English language has been developed in the Indian subcontinent, showing its changes from being a colonial imposition to becoming a recognized language ingrained in education, governance and culture. It explains this through studying significant events in history, socialization processes among people living within different regions as well as their interaction with other communities around them; also considers current effects that result from using English as an official language so widely spoken across various states of India which shape our country’s linguistic ambience and national identity.
